To whom it may concern,
I will try to write this question in English, as I am not sure if I can express things correctly in German. The question could be answered in German, tough.
I am a non-EU professional (Electrical Engineer) and I have been working in Germany since 1st of April 2006 ($ 18 AufenthG). I have recently made the third visit to Auslanderamt. I have been issued a one year Aufenthaltstitel again, until 31.03.2008.
As my company involved a Lawyer's help to in the beginning, I never had the chance to learn the rules managing and regulating my situation. Therefore, I do not know what will happen in the near future (next five years for example). The Lawyer continues to manage the related activities. It is annoying after three years (I visited a university for one semestre before I started my Job), if one still has problems to get a simple phone contract, any sort of financing/leasing etc.
My questions are more than one but hopefully short to answer:
Is it possible to get a longer work/residence permit in my situation ? Why is that issued always one year ? (could a Lawyer arrange it in this way or change it)
Some Colleagues (some of those who did the first application themselves) have been issued longer time permits, how could this be possible ?
Is there an article/a sentence/a law number I can refer to to make my permit reconsidered ?
I need a guidance and a general statement in this sense.
